Hilton Head Island Town Council to Hold Annual Strategic Planning Workshop on January 24th & 25th

The Hilton Head Island Town Council and Town staff will gather for their annual Strategic Planning Workshop on Tuesday, January 24 and Wednesday, January 25. It will be held from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the grand ballroom at the Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa, 2 Grasslawn Ave.

At the annual workshop, Town Manager Marc Orlando and senior staff members will provide a comprehensive status of the initiatives in the Town’s Fiscal Year 2021-2022 Strategic Action Plan and lead a discussion on Town goals and priorities for a Fiscal Year 2023-2025 Strategic Action Plan.

“This workshop gives us an opportunity to share a thorough update with the Mayor and Town Council, to learn about their priorities and expectations, and exchange ideas. Their input is vital to our current initiatives underway and the initiatives they would like to propose and have incorporated in our strategic work plan for the next 12 to 18 months,” said Town Manager Marc Orlando. “The strategic action plan provides for the implementation of Our Plan and sets the blueprint for us to follow as we embark on the new year. I’m excited about what we have accomplished over the last year and look forward to working with Town Council on setting this policy framework and direction for the Island’s future.”

“With several newly seated Town Council members, including myself, this will be the ideal time to get an in-depth overview of where we are with our strategic goals and offer insight on what we would like to see included as the strategic action plan is updated. The previous Town Council laid the groundwork for the initial plan. It’s up to us to keep the momentum going and build upon it for the benefit of our residents and business owners,” said Mayor Alan Perry.

The current Strategic Action Plan lays out 65 initiatives aimed at protecting and preserving the Island’s natural environment, managing growth, developing creative revenue sources to fund the delivery of services, and providing exceptional quality-of-life offerings in arts, culture, and recreation.
