The 7th Annual Pat Conroy Literary Festival will be held on October 28-30, featuring free and ticketed author presentations, writers workshops, a storytelling performance, and a screening of Conrack honoring the 50th anniversary of The Water Is Wide.
Presenting authors include New York Times bestselling novelists Thrity Umrigar (Honor) and George Dawes Green (The Kingdoms of Savannah) as well as four past winners of the Willie Morris Award for Southern Fiction--including Nathan Harris (The Sweetness of Water) and Bren McClain (One Good Mama Bone). Festival events will be held primarily in Beaufort at the Conroy Center and the USCB Center for the Arts. A closing session on Sunday afternoon will be held at Lowcountry Presbyterian Church in Bluffton, featuring children's book authors Rebecca Bruff (Stars of Wonder) and Susan Montanari (The Halloween Tree).
