Legacy of Local Support for Education and Families
Sparklight, formerly Hargray, has been a part of the Bluffton community for decades — and with that deep local history comes a longstanding commitment to supporting education and families.
This school year, Sparklight is proud to support seven back-to-school events across South Carolina and Georgia, donating 2,000 backpacks filled with school supplies curated from local district wish lists. That’s up from 1,200 backpacks provided in 2024, reflecting Sparklight’s growing commitment to helping students start the school year confident and prepared. This initiative also aims to help our local families manage the additional expenses during the busy, back-to-school season.
Sparklight also invests in the advancement of the local community. This includes supporting residents through upcoming free educational workshops on topics such as Digital Literacy, Cyber Security, Streaming and Hurricane Preparedness. Charitable Giving Fund & Dream Bigger
Sparklight is more than a local internet provider – we are a true neighbor to the communities we serve. We are committed to supporting local nonprofits.
Since 2021, the company’s Charitable Giving Fund has awarded more than $1 million in grants to nonprofits working in digital literacy, hunger relief and community development.
Bluffton non-profits will have the opportunity to apply for grants during our upcoming grant cycle, which runs from October 1 – 31.
Each year, Sparklight supports local STEM programs through our Dream Bigger campaign, opening students to greater opportunities and careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. We encourage our local schools and community organizations to participate in this campaign next spring for the opportunity to receive a grant!
Sparklight associates also contribute to the community through the company’s ‘Angel Day’ program – and we are excited to volunteer during the holidays with Child Abuse Prevention Associates (CAPA) and Bluffton Self Help again this year. We will also be part of the upcoming Dog Days of Summer Pet Supply Drive starting in late August and running through September 21.
