Scammers are targeting victims with barcodes and QR codes.
Scammers send barcodes to victims with instructions to go to popular retail stores like CVS, Walgreens or Walmart to load money onto gift cards, prepaid cards, cryptocurrency or “E-cash.”

In another scam, victims receive a package with no return address. Instead, a QR code is included. If the victim scans the QR code, their device is sent to a malicious website.
