Mascot Naming Contest: The Fire District is holding a community-wide contest to name its new fire engine-inspired robot mascot, designed to enhance fire and life safety education. The contest runs through August 7, and the winner will receive lunch for four at Fire District Headquarters, a swag pack, and have their chosen name featured on a poker-chip-style challenge coin.
Public Education & Community Engagement: The new mascot will work alongside Sparky the Fire Dog to connect with residents, especially children, at schools and community events. The Fire District hopes to debut a costumed version of the mascot at future outreach programs.
New Website Launch: The redesigned BlufftonFD.com features improved accessibility, a mobile-friendly design, and a “Storm Command” page for real-time safety information during severe weather. It also makes it easier for residents to sign up for classes and explore community safety resources.
