Dr. Grant Baldwin: Free Mind Campaign / Substance Use & Mental Health | CDC

“Free Mind” Campaign
Substance Use & Mental Health

As the nation prepares for the back-to-school season, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has launched a new national campaign to help educate youth, prevent substance use, and combat overdose deaths. The campaign, Free Mind, provides information and resources to youth ages 12–17 and their parents and caregivers about substance use, mental health, and the connection between the two.

Dr. Grant Baldwin, Director of the CDC Division of Overdose Prevention, discusses how the new research-based Free Mind campaign aims to educate youth and the adults that care for them about substance use, mental health and the connection between the two. It also provides youth and adults the tools to have important discussions, and information to help youth make informed choices and seek help when needed.
